If John Scofield, Jeff Beck, Larry Carlton, Jimi Hendrix and Thelonius Monk got together and had an orgy (try not to picture it too much), their lovechild would be guitar prodigy Oz Noy.

All I can say is wow. My friend loaned me a Live Cd of him and his trio playing in New York, and I was just blown away at his unique sound. His sense of harmony is just simply amazing. Oz, who developed his superpowers growing up in Isreal, demonstrates an uncanny wisdom and application of unique chord voicings, substitutions, improvisations, and compositions that are just out of this world.

And man do his songs groove hard and keep your head bobbing. If you like a nice mixture of funk, jazz, blues, rock, and guitar virtuousity, then check this guy out NOW. Listen to some clips here:
