Loosen Up and Get With It

When we’re improvising the best way to truly play everything/anything you want is all about getting high (keep reading-I’m not talking about drugs here).

For starters, I think it’s necessary that to be in ‘the moment’ as cliche as that sounds, is to forget that you’re playing FOR an audience, and realize that you’re playing WITH them.

The magic of music is in the tension and release between the player and the listener, that’s the only place you can ever ‘touch’ music-and in that moment just try to think about that, and not much else.

That’s the true meaning of a natural high.  Trust me you’ll literally feel it; your heart rate increases and your vision gets a little blurry (but your spiritual/emotional  vision will be increased 1000 fold)

I have been on my knees a few times, in tears while soloing, good tears, the above is well said, and comes with only experience, lol often chills, goosebumps, and severe emotional experiences come with a great playing experience, anyone who has not had this experience, should seek it out, it does exist, and is a total high on life!
