There are moments when one feels free from one’s own identification with human limitations and inadequacies. At such moments one imagines that one stands on some spot of a small planet, gazing in amazement at the cold yet profoundly moving beauty of the eternal, the unfathomable; life and death flow into one, and there is neither evolution nor destiny; only Being. - Albert Einstein
Find this moment tonight when you are playing guitar or writing music , and notice how it feels…

This I call the “forever now”.
Do something else: relax and just let a note ring…A single note you may hum,but do not hum it.
Let it make one with you while it rings.
Even if the sound withers, continue hearing it at the volume and pitch it had.
Lenghten its life with your mind as long as you can after the sound died.
Do the whole again with another note.
Play with a clean sound.
I use this as an exercise to help my pupils focus.
It works!

That feeling is the reason why I play guitar, or do anything really. I love the paradox that arises when you try to consciously achieve this state and it always eludes you, only to arise spontaneously when you least expect it.

Yeah it really is a great feeling. Getting into that zone or state is probably one of the coolest feelings in the world

What a simple truth. If only one could remain in that state all the time

Nice post. I always try to focus on the present with my playing, and just “be here now.”
