Ever since I was a young boy, I’ve had an immense love and appreciation for music. I’ll have to give the credit for this to my parents, who had a wide range of records in the house as I was growing up: Rock, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Country, Classical…etc. Thanks Mom & Dad!

Dream Your Life, Live Your Dream

I began taking guitar lessons at the age of 11, and ever since then, I knew that guitar & music had to play very big parts in my life if I wanted to be happy and successful. I also knew that I just couldn’t follow the familiar path of giving up on your musical goals and settling for something less passion-filled and exciting, just because you run into a few obstacles along the way.

Why settle for a good life when you can have a great life?

There really are no limits. What you can conceive you can achieve with dedication, persistence, focus, and passion. This is easily applied to guitar, but I believe it should be applied to all aspects of life.

Why I started GuitarPlayerZen.com

Here is a personal mission statement that I wrote down for myself about a year or two ago:

“To add value, growth, health, and pleasure to people’s lives through my music, insights, love, friendship, knowledge, and presence.”

I wasn’t sure at the time how it would all be manifested, but starting this website seemed like a great start. I knew my life’s purpose was in guitar and music, and I’m just trying to continue on that path, doing what I love. Sure it’s a risky path with plenty of road blocks, but risk-taking is a great way to continually grow and improve.
