Ted Greene is probably THE number one guitar instruction guy out there in my opinion.

I have most of his books and they all are just amazing and will definitely help take your playing to new levels.

All sorts of musicians and their respective styles deeply moved me.
In Blues it was The Kings and Bloomfield followed by Clapton, Duane Allman & Johnny Winter.
Jimi Hendrix and Beck in the Rock Garden. Wes and Django, and oh yeah Pat Martino in Jazz.

However, being able to study with Leonid Bolotine and Mario Escudero changed me for life.
Then along came Steve Morse , Larry Carlton and Scott Henderson – truly the shit.

In closing , if your a guitarist looking for something that will push your ears , check out
Bireli Lagrene and Jimmy Rosenberg.

Too many influences. I’m gonna hi-lite some diverse extremes.

Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Leo Kottke, Michael Hedges, Joni Mitchell, Eric Johnson, Scott Henderson, David Grissom, Albert King, Mattias IA Eklundh, SRV, EVH, Allan Holdsworth, Steve Morse & Michael Schenker.

Almost couldn’t stop there…

I agree Art. I find my inspiration and influences ever changing. In different parts of your life or even parts of the week, I often find myself being inspired by different players and different bands. It really does come and go in bits and pieces.

Different styles determine influence according to the type of music that is preferred. Al Dimealoa, Zyke Wild, RJ Dio, Richie Blackmore, Steve Vai,Joe Satriani,Steve Morse, Dickey Betts,Buddy Guy,George Benson are a good variety to span the styles of hooking up the notes from the fretboard to the pickups. Influence is like writing, it comes from all that is heard, in bits and pieces. Anyone agree?

I would probably say Alex Lifeson, Kee Marcello, Keith Scott, Eric Clapton, Trevor Rabin, Steve Howe, Joe Perry to name but a few lol
